What is a detox teeth whitening session?


A detox teeth whitening session is the combination of our very own oral detox rinse, which contains a mixture of coconut oil , tea tree oil and peppermint leaves with a 20,40 or 60 minute laser treatment! This treatment also includes removing bacteria from the tongue with the use of a dental tongue scraper.


Oral Detoxes are an ancient practice that involves swishing oil in your mouth to remove bacteria and promote better oral hygiene.


Studies suggest that oil pulling can kill bacteria in the mouth and improve your dental health. Some alternative medicine practitioners also claim that it can help treat several diseases. 

There are approximately 700 types of bacteria that can live in your mouth, and up to 350 of them may be found in your mouth at any given time


Certain types of harmful bacteria can contribute to problems like tooth decay, bad breath and gum disease


Several studies have shown that oil detoxing could help reduce the number of harmful bacteria in the mouth.


A recent study found similar results. It had 60 participants rinse their mouths using either mouthwash, water or oral detox for two weeks. Both mouthwash and oral detox were found to reduce the amount of bacteria found in saliva.

While tongue scraping has seen a surge in popularity over the past decade, this holistic oral care treatment can trace its origins to Ayurveda, an ancient Hindu practice centered around digestive health and balance in the human body.

One significant study found that tongue scrapers reduced volatile sulphur compounds by an incredible 75 percent1, as compared to 45 percent from brushing and flossing alone.
